        "content": "<p>Environmental pollution caused by livestock waste in Tabanan Regency,\nBali, is seeing a potential solution through the use of an innovative\nbiomi formula. The technology is being introduced to effectively process\ncattle waste while maintaining rural sanitation standards. Academic I\nNyoman Kaca from the Faculty of Agriculture, Science, and Technology\n(FPST) at Warmadewa University explained that the application of this\ntechnology is expected to reduce odour pollution and contamination,\nwhich have long been challenges for local farmers. Through a\ncommunity-based approach, the use of biomi also enhances the economic\nvalue of waste by converting it into high-quality organic fertiliser.\n\u201cThe application of this biomi technology is designed to help farmers\novercome hygiene issues in their pens and surrounding areas, so that the\npresence of livestock farms no longer disturbs the comfort of\nresidents,\u201d Nyoman Kaca stated in Denpasar on Friday (19\/6\/2026). The\nmain advantage of biomi technology lies in its ability to significantly\naccelerate the decomposition of organic matter in livestock waste.\nWhereas conventional composting can take months, the microorganisms in\nthe Biomi formula drastically shorten the maturation time, making the\nprocess far more efficient. Beyond speeding up fertiliser production,\nthis biological formulation actively binds ammonia, drastically reducing\nthe pungent smell of cattle dung and urine from the initial application.\nThe end result of this decomposition process is a nutrient-rich organic\nfertiliser that is highly stable, free from harmful pathogens, and ready\nto be used to improve soil fertility for horticultural farming. The\nprogramme is centred on the Amertha Sari II Livestock Farmer Group in\nBanjar Kesiut Kangin, Kesiut Village, Kerambitan District, Tabanan\nRegency. This group serves as a pilot model for a sustainable,\ncommunity-based waste management system. The global-scale programme is\nthe result of cross-border collaboration. The FPST at Warmadewa\nUniversity partnered with two foreign universities, Universiti Teknologi\nMARA (UiTM) in Malaysia and Pampanga State Agricultural University\n(PSAU) in the Philippines. The involvement of these international\npartners brings diverse perspectives and new expertise in mapping\nenvironmentally friendly livestock waste management that is also\nproductive for horticultural agriculture in Bali. Through the\nintegration of technology and education, waste that was once an\nenvironmental burden is now being transformed into an economic asset for\nfarmers in Tabanan.<\/p>",
