Cokroaminoto and<br>\nbefore him Wahidin Sudiro Husodo, through the ministry of<br>\neducation and culture, considering their invaluable achievements.<\/p>\n<p>With his trade union, H.O.S. Cokroaminoto established the<br>\nPartai Serikat Islam Indonesia (Indonesian Islam Union Party)<br>\nbanned by the Dutch government. It was this party that gave birth<br>\nto the two Indonesians who proclaimed Indonesia's independence on<br>\nAug. 17, 1945: Sukarno and Mohamad Hatta. There are many more<br>\nfreedom fighters to write about.<\/p>\n<p>The government should publish a book containing the<br>\nbiographies of the freedom fighters. This is due to the fact that<br>\nthere is no such book in the provincial libraries.
