        "content": "<p>Bintang's law suit rejected<\/p>\n<p>JAKARTA: The Central Jakarta District Court yesterday rejected<br>\nSri Bintang Pamungkas' lawsuit against the United Development<br>\nParty (PPP) for firing him from the House of Representatives.<\/p>\n<p>Judge Burhan Husein Putradjaja said that the lawsuit was<br>\n\"defective\" because the party was not a legal body, like a<br>\ncompany, that could be sued in a civil case.<\/p>\n<p>\"The lawsuit should have been filed against persons on the<br>\nparty's central board of executives,\" Burhan said.<\/p>\n<p>Bintang lost his seat in the House in May last year during the<br>\ncourse of the police investigation over his alleged involvement<br>\nin an anti-Indonesian government speech in Germany. PPP leaders<br>\nsaid Bintang had repeatedly contradicted the party's official<br>\nline on many political issues.<\/p>\n<p>Burhan pointed out that there are still two other persons<br>\nendorsing Bintang's dismissal, President Soeharto and House<br>\nSpeaker Wahono, who were not mentioned in the suit.<\/p>\n<p>Bintang's lawyer Adnan Buyung Nasution said he would appeal.<br>\n(16)<\/p>",
