The Bekasi Police are investigating the brutal murder of Barkah
\nHanny, 41, and her driver.<\/p>\n
The deceased woman was the wife of Abdulrahman Pelu, an agent
\nwith the National Intelligence Agency.<\/p>\n
The police questioned 10 people on Monday as witnesses in
\nconnection with the case, including Abdulrahman Pelu and a number
\nof his relatives.<\/p>\n
Barkah, a resident of Jatikramat, Bekasi, and her driver,
\nRohmat, were found dead with multiple stab wounds in a pickup
\ntruck parked on Jl. Kampung Setu in Bintara Jaya, West Jakarta,
\nearly on Sunday.<\/p>\n
\"There are 10 witnesses being questioned at the moment,
\nincluding the deceased woman's husband and some of his
\nrelatives,\" Jakarta Police spokesman Sr. Comr. Tjiptono told
\nreporters on Monday, while declining to reveal any further
\ninformation.<\/p>\n
Jakarta Police chief Insp. Firman Gani confirmed that the
\npolice were questioning those who had been among the last to see
\nBarkah Hanny and Rohmat alive, as well as the person who found
\ntheir bodies.<\/p>\n
\"We hope that the ongoing investigation will reveal the motive
\nbehind the murder. It is not clear so far whether it was just a
\nrandom killing, an act of revenge, whether the motive was
\nmaterial gain or whether it was due to infidelity or a family
\ndispute,\" he said.<\/p>\n
The bodies were found in the front of the truck, which was
\nused by Barkah to deliver furniture from her shop, by an ojek
\n(motorcycle taxi) driver.<\/p>\n
The police also found a brick at the crime scene, which they
\nbelieve had been used to batter the victims.<\/p>\n
Barkah had been stabbed twice in the neck. Bruising on her
\nface and back indicated that she had also been beaten by a blunt
\nobject.<\/p>\n
Rohmat, a resident of Karang Tembung in Cirebon, West Java,
\nwas stabbed 11 times in the chest and three times in the back, as
\nwell as being hit with a blunt object on the back of the head and
\non the forehead.<\/p>\n
No valuables appear to have been taken by the assailants.<\/p>\n
Some of Barkah's neighbors said that she and Rohmat left the
\nhouse she had been renting for the past two years on Saturday
\nafternoon.<\/p>\n
They said that although they had no idea where Barkah was
\ngoing, they were accustomed to her being away for days at a time
\nand to people visiting her house, which doubled as a furniture
\nworkshop.<\/p>\n
According to the neighbors, Abdulrahman, Barkah's husband, who
\nwas usually away on duty, was at home on the night of the
\nincident. The couple had three children.<\/p>",
