Bimantara's power projects<\/p>\n
SEMARANG, Central Java (JP): PT Trans Java Gas Pipe-Land, a
\nsubsidiary of the widely diversified PT Bimantara Citra, will
\nbuild two power plants in Central Java in cooperation with the
\nstate oil company Pertamina and Mitsubishi of Japan.<\/p>\n
\"We have provided a land site of 75 hectares for the
\nconstruction of the power plants at the Cilacap Industrial Estate
\nin Central Java,\" the chairman of the Coordinating Board for the
\nRegency Development in Cilacap, Rahardjan Sujadi, told the press
\nhere yesterday.<\/p>\n
One of the two power plants will be generated by steam, while
\nthe other will be fueled by natural gas. Each of them will have a
\ngeneration capacity of 450 megawatts, he said.<\/p>\n
Sujadi said the establishment of the power plants will cost Rp
\n1 trillion (US$431.03 million).<\/p>\n
Bimantara, which is controlled by President Soeharto's second
\nson Bambang Trihatmodjo, will invest Rp 600 billion for the
\nconstruction of the steam-powered plant and Rp 400 billion for
\nthe gas-fired plant.<\/p>\n
Sujadi emphasized the importance of the power plants to
\nsupport the development of industries in the southern part of
\nCentral Java, particularly in Cilacap and Purwokerto regencies.
