        "content": "<p>Bimantara formally owns TPI stake<\/p>\n<p>JAKARTA: PT Berkah Karya Bersama, a unit of telecommunications<br>\nand media conglomerate PT Bimantara Citra, has officially become the<br>\nmajority shareholder of the Televisi Pendidikan Indonesia (TPI)<br>\ntelevision station via a debt-to-equity conversion.<\/p>\n<p>The conversion -- for a 75 percent stake in the station --<br>\nwas approved at TPI's extraordinary shareholders meeting held<br>\nlast week, said Bimantara in a statement received on Tuesday.<\/p>\n<p>Last year, Bimantara, the owner of two other television<br>\nstations, Rajawali Citra Televisi Indonesia (RCTI) and GlobalTV,<br>\ntook over some Rp 500 billion (US$53.47 million) of TPI's debts,<br>\nof which Rp 350 billion were in convertible bonds held by<br>\ntelecommunications giant PT Indosat.<\/p>\n<p>The shareholders meeting also approved the installing of Dandy<br>\nRukmana -- former president's Soeharto's grandson -- as the new<br>\nchief commissioner and Sang Nyoman Suwisma as president director.<br>\n-- JP<\/p>",
