Deputy Minister of Home Affairs (Wamendagri) Bima Arya Sugiarto is\npromoting the implementation of Work From Home (WFH) policies for Civil\nServants (ASN) as part of efforts to achieve efficiency and a new model\nof state governance.<\/p>\n
During a review of WFH implementation at Bekasi City Hall in West\nJava, Bima Arya explained that this policy is aimed at creating a more\neffective, efficient bureaucracy oriented towards real benefits for the\npublic.<\/p>\n
\u201cThe principle of efficiency is not just about reducing dependence on\ninternational fuel supplies, but also involves a transformation in work\nculture, a new work ethos, with everyone getting accustomed to it and\nheading in that direction,\u201d said Bima on Friday (10\/4).<\/p>\n
This efficiency measure represents the government\u2019s commitment to\nmaintaining fuel price stability to avoid burdening the public,\nparticularly lower and middle-income groups.<\/p>\n
Bima stated that the state budget (APBN) and national fuel\navailability remain secure, with import dependency affected by Hormuz\nStrait dynamics remaining relatively low.<\/p>\n
\u201cFor the President and the current government, prioritising citizens,\nespecially the lower and middle classes, is very important to maintain,\u201d\nhe said.<\/p>\n
Addressing potential disruptions to public services, Bima assured\nthat essential services will continue to operate optimally. Critical\nsectors such as the Environmental Agency, Water Resources, fire\ndepartment, and Civil Service Police Unit (Satpol PP) will remain fully\noperational. Meanwhile, services at sub-districts, villages, and\nlicensing will continue with a maximum of 50 percent of staff working in\nthe office.<\/p>\n
To maintain ASN discipline during WFH, the government is implementing\na strict monitoring system through digital performance reporting and\nlocation tracking. Sanctions will be imposed on ASN who fail to carry\nout duties as required, as well as on officials negligent in\nsupervision.<\/p>\n
On the same occasion, Bima also appreciated the readiness of the\nBekasi City Government (Pemkot) system, which recorded a WFH\nparticipation rate of around 40 percent of total ASN. He urged Pemkot\nBekasi to immediately calculate the amount of budget efficiency,\nparticularly from savings in fuel, water, and electricity usage.<\/p>\n
Additionally, Bima positively assessed the Bekasi Mayor\u2019s policy\nencouraging ASN to use public transport and bicycles. In the future, he\nhopes for the expansion of public transport based on electric vehicles\nto more significantly support national energy efficiency.<\/p>\n
