        "content": "<p>BII to issue Rp 2t of bonds<\/p>\n<p>JAKARTA: Nationalized PT Bank Internasional Indonesia plans to<br>\nissue Rp 2 trillion (US$227 million) of bonds in the second half<br>\nof this year, an official with the bank said Wednesday.<\/p>\n<p>BII's President Director Sigit Pramono told reporters that the<br>\nplanned bond issuance is part of the bank's measures to switch<br>\nmore financing into longer maturities.<\/p>\n<p>However, he stopped short of revealing the maturity of the<br>\nbond.<\/p>\n<p>\"We are in the middle of selecting underwriters,\" Sigit said.<br>\nHe added that the bank will select foreign and local underwriters<br>\nfor the issue.<\/p>\n<p>The recent fall in domestic interest rates have encouraged<br>\nlocal companies to access the local debt market to raise funds.<br>\nSuch exuberance is expected to help expand the underdeveloped<br>\nlocal bond market. -- Dow Jones<\/p>",
