        "content": "<p>BI to issue new banking rules<\/p>\n<p>NUSA DUA, Bali: The central bank will soon release two crucial<br>\nregulations to accelerate banking activities, strengthen banking<br>\ninstitutions and to boost real economic sectors, including small-<br>\nto medium enterprises (SMEs).<\/p>\n<p>Speaking on Wednesday after the opening of a three-day seminar<br>\non microbanking in Nusa Dua, Bali, Bank Indonesia governor<br>\nBurhanuddin Abdullah said the new regulations were expected to<br>\naccelerate economic growth to around 6 percent in 2005.<\/p>\n<p>The regulations also aim to empower the SME sector and boost<br>\ninfrastructure development, which was halted due to the economic<br>\ncrisis.<\/p>\n<p>As for SMEs, the central bank will grant greater flexibility<br>\nto both private and state banks to provide loans to the sector.<\/p>\n<p>The revitalization of the two sectors are expected to promote<br>\neconomic activities across the country.-- JP<\/p>",
