        "content": "<p>Bank Indonesia (BI) Tasikmalaya, together with the West Java Economic\nSociety (WJES), has reinforced its commitment to making the southern\ncorridor of West Java a new engine of economic growth. Through a\nstrategic forum held in Priangan Timur on Thursday (18\/6\/2026),\nstakeholders agreed that strengthening the region\u2019s leading potentials\nand sectoral integration are key to transformation.<\/p>\n<p>Deputy Head of the Bank Indonesia Tasikmalaya Representative Office,\nAzhar Livaldy Setyawigoena, stressed that cross-regional and\ncross-sector synergy is crucial to creating closer economic linkages.\n\u201cMore solid collaboration is expected to connect the potential of each\narea to support the shared development agenda,\u201d Azhar said.<\/p>\n<p>Amidst global dynamics, the economy of the Priangan Timur region has\nshown significant resilience. Based on data presented at the forum, the\nregion\u2019s economic growth remains on a positive trajectory with\ncontrolled price stability.<\/p>\n<p>During a panel session, a number of experts and regional heads\nhighlighted the importance of connectivity. Tasikmalaya Regent Cecep\nNurul Yakin emphasised that the construction of the Getaci Toll Road is\nstrategic infrastructure that will accelerate mobility and the\ndownstream processing of the agricultural sector. Similarly, Pangandaran\nRegent Citra Pitriyami assessed that accessibility is key to expanding\nthe economies of scale in tourism.<\/p>\n<p>BI West Java Province Expert Economist, Siti Muarrofah, added that a\ndynamic economic environment requires adaptive and measured policy\nresponses. Meanwhile, Fithra Faisal Hastiadi from the Government\nCommunication Agency suggested using data science to monitor prices and\nsupply in order to maintain the purchasing power of the middle\nclass.<\/p>\n<p>Innovation is also coming from the City of Banjar. Mayor Sudarsono\nrevealed plans to build a 100 MW Solar Power Plant (PLTS) as a strategic\nstep to strengthen the region\u2019s economic structure through energy\nself-sufficiency.<\/p>\n<p>Through strong integration between academics, practitioners, and\ngovernment, WJES 2026 is expected to produce applicable policy\nrecommendations capable of propelling southern West Java into an\ninclusive and sustainable economic zone for the welfare of the\ncommunity.<\/p>",
