Following the announcement, the Jakarta Composite Index (IHSG)\nextended its decline after closing the first trading session in negative\nterritory. The index immediately dropped to 6,124.32, a fall of 1.55%\nfrom the previous close. The rate hike is expected to prolong the\ndownward trend as risk-off sentiment prompts investors to shed riskier\nassets, from long-tenor bonds to domestic equities. During the second\ntrading session, Bank Central Asia (BBCA) led daily transaction value at\nRp883.29 billion, followed by Chandra Asri Pacific (TPIA) at Rp854.12\nbillion and Bank Rakyat Indonesia at Rp670.54 billion. By sector, only\nbasic industries managed a gain of 0.11%, while all other sectors fell.\nInfrastructure suffered the steepest decline at -2.75%, followed by\nfinancials at -1.77% and healthcare at -1.53%.
