        "content": "<p>The Bali Representative Office of Bank Indonesia (BI) is mapping\ntourism clusters that can be optimally developed by tailoring them to\nregional potential, in a bid to support economic equity in the northern,\neastern, and western parts of Bali. \u201cThere is overcapacity in the\nsouthern part of Bali,\u201d said Deputy Director of the BI Bali\nRepresentative Office Yusuf Wicaksono in Denpasar on Wednesday. This\nmapping is part of tourism and product diversification, with Jembrana\nRegency in West Bali, for example, having the potential to further\ndevelop maritime tourism or initiatives based on marine ecosystem\npreservation. Meanwhile, North Bali, specifically Buleleng Regency,\ncould focus on wellness and agro-spiritual tourism, while Klungkung and\nBangli Regencies could highlight cultural heritage and culinary tourism.\nTo support this, he urged the strict enforcement of spatial planning\nregulations, building permits, and environmental carrying capacity\ncontrols through collaboration that integrates the roles of local\ngovernments, traditional villages, academics, business actors, and the\ncommunity. However, efforts to achieve equitable tourism still face\ninfrastructure and inter-regional connectivity challenges, including the\nneed to accelerate the development of the east-west-north tourism\ncorridor and the Denpasar-Klungkung-Bangli-Singaraja public transport\nproject (MRT). Also needed is the revitalisation of Gilimanuk Port in\nJembrana, Padangbai Port in Karangasem, and Celukan Bawang Port in\nBuleleng. The Bali Provincial Tourism Office noted that tourism\ncontributed 66 per cent to Bali\u2019s economic growth based on 2024 data.\nBali Province also makes a significant contribution to national foreign\nexchange, providing Rp176 trillion, or 55 per cent, of the total\nnational realisation of Rp319.9 trillion. In 2025, 7.05 million foreign\ntourists visited Bali, an increase from 6.33 million in 2024.<\/p>",
