        "content": "<p>Bank Indonesia (BI) has stated that, from a global economic\nperspective, Indonesia has once again been affirmed as one of the\n\u2018bright spots\u2019 with strong fundamentals, credible policies, and\nmaintained economic resilience amid increasing global uncertainties.<\/p>\n<p>Director of BI\u2019s Communication Department, Anton Pitono, explained\nthat the IMF and global investors also appreciate Indonesia\u2019s\nconsistency in maintaining macroeconomic stability.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThis includes through solid synergy between fiscal and monetary\npolicies, discipline in keeping the deficit below 3 per cent of GDP, as\nwell as adaptive and forward-looking policy responses in facing external\npressures,\u201d said Anton in his statement on Wednesday, 15 April 2026.<\/p>\n<p>International Monetary Fund (IMF) Managing Director Kristalina\nGeorgieva assessed that, amid increasingly complex global dynamics,\nIndonesia has still managed to optimally balance stability and\ngrowth.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWhile maintaining growth momentum supported by strong domestic\ndemand,\u201d she stated.<\/p>\n<p>This was conveyed by Georgieva in a meeting with the BI Governor, the\nFinance Minister, and members of the Indonesian House of Representatives\nas part of ongoing meetings with global investors at the IMF Spring\nMeetings on Tuesday, 14 April 2026.<\/p>\n<p>During the IMF Spring Meetings, Anton explained that BI continued\noutreach to global investors to emphasise that Indonesia\u2019s economy\nremains on the right track and well-managed amid rising global\nuncertainties.<\/p>\n<p>With solid economic growth supported by strong domestic demand,\ninflation kept within target, and recovery in banking intermediation,\nIndonesia has, in his view, demonstrated consistent resilience amid\nexternal pressures.<\/p>\n<p>Anton added that Bank Indonesia also emphasised that the policy\nresponses undertaken are no longer conventional. Instead, they are\nthrough an integrated and adaptive policy mix, combining monetary policy\nfocused on stability, pro-growth macroprudential policy, and\nstrengthening the payment system to support economic activity and\ndigitalisation.<\/p>\n<p>Amid increasingly complex global dynamics, BI reaffirmed its\ncommitment to maintaining stability through flexible yet measured\nexchange rate management, strengthening monetary instruments to preserve\nthe attractiveness of domestic assets, and cautious liquidity management\nto continue supporting growth.<\/p>",
