The Deposit\nFacility rate rose by 25 bps to 4.50%, and the Lending Facility rate\nincreased by 25 bps to 6.25%. \u201cToday we raised it to 5.50%,\u201d said BI\nGovernor Perry Warjiyo during a working meeting with the House of\nRepresentatives\u2019 Budget Committee in Jakarta, Tuesday (9\/6\/2026). Perry\nstated the BI-Rate hike was an effort to keep pace with global\ndevelopments, where benchmark rates are being raised to attract foreign\ninvestment. \u201cWe do not like raising interest rates, but it is necessary\nto attract foreign portfolio investment, as interest rates abroad have\nall risen,\u201d he explained.
