The National Nutrition Agency (BGN) visited Bareskrim to coordinate
actions against illegal trading of SPPG points under the Free Nutritious
Meals (MBG) programme. Deputy Head of BGN Sony Sonjaya stated the
coordination was prompted by widespread illegal trading of SPPG points
across various regions. He noted many citizens had fallen victim to
scams where individuals falsely claimed to be BGN officials or
associates, offering to process SPPG permits for a fee. “The
complainants were victims of fraud by individuals posing as close
associates of BGN officials, or even claiming to be BGN officials
themselves, offering to register SPPG points in exchange for payment,”
he told reporters at Bareskrim on Monday (25 May). Sony said several
reports have been handled by police, including one in West Java where
suspects were apprehended. He stressed the importance of coordinating
with the MBG Task Force to ensure prompt processing of reports,
preventing further misuse of the MBG programme for personal gain.
Inspector General Nurworo Danang, Chief of the MBG Task Force, affirmed
full support for legal enforcement against alleged MBG programme misuse,
including SPPG point trading. “The MBG Task Force fully supports legal
action against those misusing the MBG programme for illicit gains
through unlawful means,” he stated. Nurworo also urged the public to
report any suspected violations or deviations promptly for appropriate
legal action. “We urge all citizens to report any violations or
deviations, particularly suspected SPPG point trading, to local law
enforcement authorities at the police station or provincial level,” he
added.
",
