Jayapura (ANTARA) \u2013 The National Nutrition Agency (BGN) has\nasked all Satuan Pelayanan Pemenuhan Gizi (SPPG) in Papua to implement\n23 nutrition education modules, as part of strengthening the\nimplementation of the Free Nutritious Meals Programme (MBG).<\/p>\n<p>Deputy for Promotion and Cooperation at the National Nutrition Agency\n(BGN), Gunalan, in Jayapura, on Friday, said the 23 nutrition education\nmodules would serve as a guide for field officers in delivering\neducation concerning balanced nutrition to communities, schools, and\nprogramme beneficiaries.<\/p>\n<p>\u2018The aim of the modules we provide is to become a guide for officers\nso that education can also be given to the wider public, so that the\nadequacy of nutrition can be felt more broadly, not only for\nbeneficiaries,\u2019 he said after opening the Dissemination of the Animal\nand Plant Protein Deepening Module in Jayapura.<\/p>\n<p>According to Gunalan, strengthening nutrition education is important\nso that the public not only receives nutritious food, but also\nunderstands the importance of healthy eating patterns and daily\nnutritional needs.<\/p>\n<p>\u2018In the modules, they cover various materials on the fulfilment of\nanimal-based and plant-based protein, healthy consumption patterns, and\nstrengthening understanding of balanced nutrition for school-age\nchildren,\u2019 he said.<\/p>\n<p>He explained that his side hopes that in the future every SPPG in\nPapua can present more diverse nutritious menu options, especially using\nPapua local foods, thereby increasing student interest and enthusiasm in\nparticipating in the Free Nutritious Meals Programme.<\/p>\n<p>\u2018We want children to feel happy to receive nutritious meals so that\nthe programme runs optimally and has an impact on improving the health\nquality of the younger generation,\u2019 he said.<\/p>\n<p>He added that the agency, together with the regional government,\ncontinues to strengthen officers\u2019 capacity and socialisation to the\ncommunity to support the success of the Free Nutritious Meals Programme\nin Papua.<\/p>",
