Head of the National Nutrition Agency (BGN), Dadan Hindayana,\nexplained that the procurement of shoe polish and brush kits forms part\nof the educational and training needs for the Sarjana Penggerak\nPembangunan Indonesia (SPPI) programme in 2025. The programme is\ndesigned for participants prepared as support components in implementing\nthe Free Nutritious Meals (MBG) programme.<\/p>\n
Dadan stated that the SPPI education costs come from the BGN budget.\nHowever, the procurement of goods, including shoe polish and brushes, is\ncarried out through a Type II self-managed scheme involving the National\nDefence University. \u201cSo the procurement is at the National Defence\nUniversity,\u201d Dadan said when contacted on Friday, 17 April 2026.<\/p>\n
He explained that there were seven individual field equipment kits\nprovided to SPPI participants in the previous year. The total value of\nthat procurement reached around Rp1.52 billion. \u201cThe breakdown is Rp1.25\nbillion for polish and around Rp272 million for polish brushes,\u201d he\nsaid.<\/p>\n
From those procurement packages, according to him, the price per unit\nof polish was purchased for Rp41,470 and the polish brush per unit for\nRp10,780. Dadan mentioned that the procurement was intended for 30,299\nSPPI education participants.<\/p>\n
Based on procurement realisation data from the Government\nGoods\/Services Procurement Policy Agency (LKPP), there are several shoe\npolish and brush contract packages carried out by several providers\nthrough the government procurement mechanism.<\/p>\n
In that data, at least 12 contract packages were signed by the MBG\nproject implementing agencies to purchase shoe brushes and polish. The\ntotal value of the goods procurement contracts is recorded at Rp1.57\nbillion, involving several provider companies.<\/p>\n
Providers include PT Gajah Mitra Paragon, PT Bijee Galang Indonesia,\nand PT Tempa Bersama. PT Gajah Mitra Paragon is recorded as receiving\ntwo procurement contracts, namely for shoe polish and shoe polish\nbrushes. For the polish package, the company received a contract value\nof Rp610.2 million. Meanwhile, for the shoe polish brush procurement,\nthe same company received a contract worth Rp158.2 million.<\/p>\n
PT Bijee Galang Indonesia, located in East Jakarta, is also recorded\nas receiving a similar procurement project. The company received a\ncontract of Rp136 million for solid shoe polish and Rp35 million for\nshoe polish brush packages.<\/p>\n
In the Inaproc procurement catalogue, products of shoe polish and\nbrushes from PT Bijee Galang Indonesia are known to no longer be\navailable.<\/p>\n
Meanwhile, at PT Gajah Mitra Paragon, Kiwi brand shoe polish products\nare recorded as sold for around Rp54,999 to Rp56,000 per unit. While\nshoe polish brushes are priced at around Rp50,000 per unit. If compared\nto market prices, one package of shoe polish along with a brush with a\nsimilar brand is sold for around Rp18,999.<\/p>\n
