        "content": "<p>The National Nutrition Agency (BGN) has stated that 2,213 Nutrition\nService Units (SPPGs) remain suspended to improve the quality of the\nFree Nutrition Meal Program (MBG). The suspension of thousands of SPPGs\ntakes into account public feedback, local officials\u2019 input, surprise\ninspections (sidak), and monitoring of incidents affecting\nbeneficiaries.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cFrom the launch of the MBG on 6 January 2025 until 29 May 2026, out\nof the total 27,208 SPPGs currently operating across Indonesia, 8,182\nhave been suspended at some point,\u201d said Nanik S. Deyang, BGN\u2019s Deputy\nHead of Public Communication and Investigation, in a statement on\nMonday.<\/p>\n<p>Nationwide data shows that 8,182 SPPGs have been suspended in total,\nwith 5,659 resuming operations after meeting requirements. Meanwhile,\n2,213 remain suspended for failing to comply with technical guidelines\non management and facility infrastructure.<\/p>\n<p>In Region III\u2014which includes Kalimantan, Sulawesi, Nusa Tenggara,\nMaluku, and Papua\u2014out of 4,646 operational SPPGs, 399 remain\nsuspended.<\/p>\n<p>SPPGs face suspension for various reasons, including menus causing\ndigestive issues, diarrhoea, or vomiting; serving meals below the\nallocated budget of Rp8,000 and Rp10,000; deliberate price mark-ups of\ningredients; or non-compliance with facility layout technical\nguidelines.<\/p>\n<p>The number of suspended SPPGs may rise further, as BGN now requires\neach unit to distribute MBG to at least 300 beneficiaries from pregnant\nwomen, nursing mothers, and toddlers (3B).<\/p>\n<p>\u201cIf SPPGs fail to provide data on MBG distribution to the 3B group by\n2 June 2026, they will face major suspension (without incentives) and\ntheir heads will receive a stern warning,\u201d Nanik said.<\/p>",
