        "content": "<p>Jakarta, CNBC Indonesia - The Free Nutritious Meals (MBG) programme\ncontinues to be strengthened by the government and is beginning to show\neconomic impacts. This is in line with increased activity in supporting\nsectors such as the food supply chain and equipment industries.<\/p>\n<p>Deputy Head of the National Nutrition Agency (BGN) for Public\nCommunication and Investigation, Nanik S Deyang, emphasised that the MBG\nprogramme is not only focused on fulfilling nutrition. It also serves as\nan economic driver and a learning space.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cMBG is a laboratory for universities. All faculties can get involved\nand take roles according to their fields,\u201d she said during the BGN Goes\nto Campus event at Hasanuddin University (Unhas) in Makassar on Tuesday\n(5\/5\/2026).<\/p>\n<p>She added that the programme is driven by the basic needs of the\ncommunity for access to decent food. According to her, many Indonesian\ncitizens still do not have their food needs properly met.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThere are still many of our fellow citizens who cannot eat well.\nThis is the main spirit of the MBG programme,\u201d she stated.<\/p>\n<p>In addition, BGN is opening opportunities for higher education\ninstitutions to actively participate in the programme\u2019s implementation,\nincluding through academic contributions and field activities.
