        "content": "<p>Bandung Regent Dadang Supriatna and Deputy Head of the National\nNutrition Agency (BGN) Sony Sonjaya conducted the first harvest of the\nGerakan Tanami Halaman (Gertaman) programme at the Regent\u2019s official\nresidence in the Bandung Regency government complex on Thursday\n(19\/3\/2026). The pair harvested various vegetable commodities, such as\npakcoy, celery, spinach, water spinach, and sweet potatoes, as a\ntangible demonstration of support for local food security efforts. On\nthis occasion, BGN Deputy Head Sony Sonjaya expressed appreciation for\nthe breakthrough initiative by Regent Dadang in launching the Gertaman\nprogramme across Bandung Regency. He described the programme as a smart\nstep to optimise unproductive household or office yards by planting\nvarious economically valuable commodities with short harvest times. Sony\nassessed that this programme is highly beneficial for strengthening the\nfood security movement and assisting in supplying the needs of the Free\nNutritious Meals (MBG) in Bandung Regency. \u201cThis innovation is worth\nemulating and developing in other regions because the Gertaman harvest\ncan be channelled to SPPG, thereby reducing dependence on external\nsupplies. The Regent\u2019s innovation is extraordinary,\u201d said Sony Sonjaya\nduring the first harvest. In addition to supplying MBG needs for nearby\nSPPG kitchens, Sony continued, the community also gains additional\nincome from selling those vegetables. Therefore, he stated, if\nimplemented seriously and consistently, the Gertaman programme can\nroutinely supply MBG needs while also playing a role in maintaining\ncommunity food security. Regent Dadang Supriatna revealed that Gertaman\nwas officially launched on 23 December 2025 at the Soreang Sub-District\nOffice. The programme aims to support President Prabowo Subianto\u2019s food\nsecurity initiative and MBG in Bandung Regency. \u201cAlhamdulillah, after\nthe launch on 23 December, today we can carry out the first harvest\ntogether with the Deputy Head of BGN. The harvest results are\nextraordinary,\u201d explained Regent Dadang Supriatna. The top official in\nBandung Regency described the Gertaman movement as a real effort by the\nBandung Regency government to build family food self-sufficiency in the\nregency. \u201cFrom the start of the launch, the idea is to utilise\nunproductive yard land for planting economically valuable crops with\nshort harvest times. At minimum, to meet personal needs; if there is a\nsurplus, it can be sold at KDMP to support MBG,\u201d said the Regent,\naffectionately known as Kang DS. He once again invited the community to\nseize the opportunities in the MBG programme, which has a money\ncirculation of up to Rp 5.4 trillion per year in the region. \u201cI am\noptimistic that the community\u2019s harvest results will also meet MBG needs\nbecause the MBG requirements are very large.\u201d Various plant commodities,\nsuch as red chillies, bird\u2019s eye chillies, carrots, cabbage, pakcoy,\nspinach, and eggplants, are planted in this programme.
