Fire razes 40 houses at Kebon Jeruk<\/p>\n
JAKARTA: Fire destroyed about 40 houses in Kedoya Utara,
\nPesing, Kebon Jeruk, West Jakarta, on Saturday.<\/p>\n
Firefighter from the West Jakarta fire station Suhardi
\nsuspected that the fire might have been caused by a short
\ncircuit, adding that a further investigation into the cause of
\nthe fire was still under way.<\/p>\n
Seventeen fire engines managed to extinguish the fire at 3:30

TANGERANG: Tangerang police managed to arrest one of four
\ncontainer truck hijackers who usually operate near Tanjung
\nPriok port, North Jakarta, after a truck they had hijacked ran
\nout of fuel in Cikupa late on Thursday.<\/p>\n
The truck, driven by Harjanto, 25, and his helper, Nur Ichsan,
\n20, was hijacked near Tanjung Priok on Thursday evening.<\/p>\n
The robbers, identified as Suhendra, 35, Khairudin, 35, Alex,
\n37, and Jack, 40, tied up the driver and his helper behind the
\nseats, and then drove the truck toward Merak along the Jakarta-
\nMerak tollway.<\/p>\n
\"But when the truck arrived in Cikupa at about 10 p.m., it ran
\nout of fuel. Patrolling police officers who became suspicious
\nfinally arrested Suhendar while the three other suspects fled
\nafter realizing the police were on hand,\" said Tangerang Police
\ndeputy chief GDE Sugianyar.<\/p>\n
Suhendra and the truck, which was carrying 610 Bridgestone
\ntires valued at around Rp 500 million that were destined for
\nexport to Singapore, were brought to Tangerang Police

JAKARTA: Police at Duren Sawit subdistrict, East Jakarta,
\narrested two men believed to be drug traffickers as part of the
\nOperasi Ketupat Lilin security patrol during the small hours of
\nSaturday.<\/p>\n
The two were caught on the second floor of Perumnas Klender
\nmarket building.<\/p>\n
City police spokesman Sr. Comr. Prasetyo said that the police
\nfound 13 grams of putaw (low-grade heroin) and syringes on
\nHandoko, 24, and Ferdi Nurdiansyah, 20.<\/p>\n
The two were still being held at Duren Sawit police station

\nWater bills to be payable through ATMs

JAKARTA: Starting Dec. 18, customers of PT Thames PAM Jaya
\n(TPJ) will be able to pay their bills through Bank Central Asia
\nATMs.<\/p>\n
The new service was confirmed following the signing of a
\ncooperation between the two companies on Wednesday, according to
\nDirector of Communication and Public Relations of TPJ, Rhamses
\nSimanjuntak.<\/p>\n
TPJ, which has a 25-year contract with the city-owned water
\ncompany PAM Jaya, serves 324,073 customers here.<\/p>\n
It has three water treatment installations and produces 9,050
