As a preventive measure, KAI Daop\n4 Semarang is urging the public to be wary of fraud modes disguised as\nsocial engineering, which exploit digital financing features (PayLater)\non third-party platforms or e-commerce.<\/p>\n<p>This was stated by the Public Relations Manager of KAI Daop 4\nSemarang, Luqman Arif, through an official statement on Monday\n(14\/09\/2026). He emphasised that this modus operandi purely targets the\npsychological manipulation of victims and is not a vulnerability within\nthe train ticket booking system.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe modus operandi begins when perpetrators persuade victims under\nthe pretext of asking for help, offering commission rewards, or the lure\nof instant profits to book train tickets using the PayLater limits of\nthe victim\u2019s personal account,\u201d said Luqman.<\/p>\n<p>Luqman explained that once the tickets are issued, the perpetrators\nuse control over the booking account to process ticket cancellations\n(refunds). As a result, the refund funds flow into the perpetrator\u2019s\naccount, while the victim remains burdened with the obligation of\nPayLater instalment payments and interest.<\/p>\n<p>He ensured that KAI\u2019s transaction infrastructure and ticketing\nsystems are entirely secure. \u201cAll KAI sales and operational ticket\nsystems currently operate with high security standards and are strictly\nverified,\u201d he explained.<\/p>\n<p>This fraud method, Luqman continued, exists outside KAI\u2019s direct\noperational ecosystem because it exploits individual negligence and\npersonal financing limits. Therefore, KAI strongly advises customers to\nconduct bookings independently through the official Access by KAI\napplication or the kai.id website to ensure security, data certainty,\nand comprehensive service ease.<\/p>",
