        "content": "<p>The Financial Services Authority (OJK) has urged the public to be\nwary of a fraudulent scheme misusing the name of the National Financial\nLiteracy Movement (Gencarkan) programme.<\/p>\n<p>In a post on its official Instagram account, the OJK stressed that\nthe Gencarkan Programme and other OJK programmes have never offered\nadditional income schemes to the public. The OJK also asked the public\nto always verify the truth of information received through OJK Contact\n157 or the social media account <span class=\"citation\" data-cites=\"kontak157\">@kontak157<\/span>.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe OJK \u2018Gencarkan\u2019 Programme or other OJK programmes have never\noffered additional income programmes,\u201d the OJK wrote in the post on\nFriday (12\/6\/2026).<\/p>\n<p>The OJK also displayed an example of a message used by perpetrators\nto carry out their actions. In the message, the perpetrator claimed to\nbe an assistant for the OJK\u2019s Gencarkan Programme and offered an\nopportunity to earn additional income ranging from Rp20,000 to Rp450,000\nper day.<\/p>\n<p>The perpetrator also promised an initial bonus of Rp20,000 on the\ncondition that the potential victim completed two simple tasks. Payment\nwas said to be made via bank transfer or digital wallet according to the\nvictim\u2019s choice.<\/p>\n<p>For context, Gencarkan is an OJK programme aimed at encouraging a\nmassive and equitable increase in financial literacy and inclusion\nthroughout Indonesia. This programme is one of the OJK\u2019s efforts to\nbroaden public understanding of financial services and products.<\/p>\n<p>Through Gencarkan, the OJK is also encouraging the emergence of 2\nmillion ambassadors and agents of financial literacy and inclusion, who\nare expected to provide a multiplier effect through various financial\neducation activities for the wider community. The programme is run\nthrough multiple channels so it is targeted to reach up to 50 million\nIndonesians.<\/p>\n<p>The OJK is targeting the Gencarkan Programme to become a driver for\nincreasing national financial inclusion in the long term. The hope is\nthat the national financial inclusion index can reach 98% by the Golden\nIndonesia celebration in 2045.<\/p>",
