        "content": "<p>Beware of foreign <br>\nintervention<\/p>\n<p>From Media Indonesia<\/p>\n<p>Foreign intervention will perhaps become increasingly <br>\nsophisticated and difficult to avoid as it is one of the main <br>\nfeatures of globalization, in which a national issue is also seen <br>\nas a global problem. Therefore, it becomes even harder to <br>\nidentify forms of such intervention, as is now taking place in <br>\nAceh. The Henry Dunant Center (HDC) and the Joint Security <br>\nCommittee (JSC) certainly regard their tasks as serving a <br>\nhumanitarian cause.<\/p>\n<p>The humanitarian principles they follow will not distinguish <br>\nbetween the acts done by the Free Aceh Movement (GAM) and the <br>\nIndonesian military (TNI). Indonesia&apos;s approval of the foreign <br>\norganizations&apos; presence also makes national interests difficult <br>\nto manifest.<\/p>\n<p>Treating GAM and TNI on the same footing is already favorable <br>\nto GAM, which can arouse suspicion among people who &quot;love <br>\nIndonesia&quot;. In the case of physical reaction shown by the public <br>\nat the JSC or HDC headquarters, the position of Indonesia is <br>\nfurther &quot;cornered&quot;. In our view, the Aceh issue with the HDC and <br>\nJSC as truce monitors and dispute mediators should be closely <br>\nexamined.<\/p>\n<p>GAM has lately violated the peace agreement with Indonesia by <br>\ncommitting acts of violence, including the burning of public <br>\nfacilities in Aceh. However, the TNI has had to bear the blame <br>\nfor GAM&apos;s offenses.
