Beware, money changing deception<\/p>\n

The group Combating Counterfeit And Financial Crimes has
\ncalled on the public to watch out for a new scam in the currency
\nexchange.<\/p>\n
The scam works as follows: A group claims to possess money in
\nRp 100,000 denominations of the Sukarno-Hatta edition note as a
\nresult of the excess number of these banknotes printed in
\nAustralia at the turn of the millennium. It claims they can be
\ntransferred to all banks other than Bank Indonesia and subjected
\nto an authenticity test.<\/p>\n
The group offers the exchange of the rupiah banknotes for U.S.
\ndollars and is ready to pay Rp 10,000 per dollar, with the excuse
\nof avoiding bothersome banking procedures.<\/p>\n
After the U.S. currency is readied in an agreed location,
\nvictims of the deception will find that the rupiah banknotes they
\nreceive are forged and the gang get away with the dollars.<\/p>\n
