        "content": "<p>Better surveillance at airport<\/p>\n<p>JAKARTA (JP): Custom and excise officials at Soekarno-Hatta<br>\nInternational Airport will increase surveillance of passengers<br>\nand baggage in an attempt to stop transport of illegal drugs out<br>\nof the country, an official said.<\/p>\n<p>Permana Agung of the Directorate General of Custom and Excise<br>\nsaid on Wednesday there had been many incidents where illegal<br>\ndrugs were successfully smuggled through airport security. This<br>\nis supported in a confession by a suspect arrested Saturday, who<br>\nsaid she had transported some 30,000 ecstasy pills to Bangkok<br>\nlast month.<\/p>\n<p>Mili Wagimin was arrested on charges of trying to smuggle some<br>\n10,000 ecstasy pills. She was found to have plastic bags<br>\ncontaining the drugs strapped to her body.<\/p>\n<p>&quot;We need more intelligence operations to anticipate (smuggling<br>\ndrugs out of Indonesia),&quot; Permana told a press conference on a<br>\nsimilar smuggling attempt.<\/p>\n<p>A man identified as Cheng Ching Lung, 30, with a People&apos;s<br>\nRepublic of China passport, was arrested Monday for possession of<br>\n4,721 ecstasy pills. They were also in plastic bags, strapped to<br>\nhis legs. The arrest was made when he was about to board a flight<br>\nto Taipei.<\/p>\n<p>At the press conference Ucok Marisi, the airport customs<br>\nofficer in charge of smuggling interdiction, said most arrests in<br>\nnarcotic cases in the last two years were based on &quot;profile<br>\nanalysis&quot; of passengers behaving suspiciously, apart from baggage<br>\nand body checks.<\/p>\n<p>Also confiscated at the airport on Wednesday were some 9,500<br>\nporn VCDs.
