Better coordination in supervision urged<\/p>\n
JAKARTA (JP): Vice President Try Sutrisno called on cabinet
\nministers yesterday to improve coordination in pursuing the
\ncountry's development programs.<\/p>\n
In his address at a cabinet meeting on development
\nsupervision, Try warned that the lack of coordination would harm
\nthe whole development effort.<\/p>\n
The coordination meeting on development supervision, held
\nevery six months, was attended by all ministers not on official
\ntrips.<\/p>\n
Try said Indonesia, which embarked on its 25-year development
\nprogram in April, is at a crossroads.<\/p>\n
\"The current stage of the development is vital for the future
\nof the nation,\" he was quoted as saying by Minister of
\nInformation Harmoko following the meeting.<\/p>\n
Try urged the cabinet ministers to promote cooperation and
\ncoordination because the current stage of development will be
\ndecisive in bringing the country to its take-off era.<\/p>\n
He said that built-in controls within all governmental
\ninstitutions should, therefore, be promoted so that the
\ndevelopment programs could be carried out in line with the
\nexisting guidelines.<\/p>\n
The Vice President said that the coordination should be
\ncarried out both vertically and horizontally and on all
\ndevelopment fields.<\/p>\n
He warned the ministers not to feel superior to one another as
\nsuch a feeling could damage the development process. (hen)<\/p>",
