The Forest Area Control Task Force (Satgas PKH) has revealed the\npotential for new suspects in the alleged corruption case concerning the\nmanagement of PT Asmin Koalindo Tuhup (AKT) mining operations. Law\nenforcement authorities are continuing the investigation process.<\/p>\n
This possibility of additional suspects emerged after the Attorney\nGeneral\u2019s Office designated Samin Tan, the beneficial owner of PT AKT,\nas a suspect in the same case previously.<\/p>\n
Spokesperson for Satgas PKH, Barita Simanjuntak, stated that the\ninvestigation is proceeding in stages. The authorities are delving into\nthe involvement of other parties in the matter.<\/p>\n
\u201cThe investigation process is being conducted meticulously and in\nstages by law enforcement officials, thoroughly examining all collected\nevidence,\u201d said Barita, in a post on Instagram @satgaspkhofficial<\/span>, quoted on\nMonday (13\/4\/2026).<\/p>\n Barita mentioned that the determination of additional suspects will\nbe made if strong legal facts are found in the field. This is part of\nlaw enforcement efforts to resolve the mining corruption case involving\ndeviations in the forest area.<\/p>\n \u201cIf there is strong evidence, it will certainly lead to whether there\nare suspicions of other suspects, whether in the same corporation,\ncompany, management, or state officials,\u201d he added.<\/p>\n State Officials Involved<\/p>\n Additionally, Deputy Attorney General for Special Crimes (Jampidsus)\nof the Attorney General\u2019s Office, Febrie Adriansyah, openly stated that\nstate officials are involved in the alleged corruption case of PT Asmin\nKoalindo Tuhup (AKT) mining management. Currently, law enforcement has\ndesignated one suspect.<\/p>\n \u201cThat\u2019s all being examined. In corruption cases, there must be state\nofficials involved. But the investigators have considerations on\npriorities, which ones first, which not,\u201d said Febrie, when asked about\nthe involvement of state officials, at the Attorney General\u2019s Office in\nSouth Jakarta, on Friday (10\/4\/2026).<\/p>\n Although Febrie did not want to disclose details regarding the\nconnection of state officials. It\nwill certainly expand, but now the investigators\u2019 movements are more\nfocused on securing the assets,\u201d said Febrie.<\/p>\n Land Seized<\/p>\n Previously, the Minister of Energy and Mineral Resources (ESDM)\nBahlil Lahadalia, along with the Minister of Defence (Menhan) Sjafrie\nSjamsoeddin, took over the mining land spanning 1,699 hectares in Murung\nRaya Regency, Central Kalimantan.<\/p>\n In addition to Defence Minister Sjafrie, Bahlil was accompanied by\nNational Police Chief General Listyo Sigit Prabowo, Attorney General ST\nBurhanuddin, TNI Commander General Agus Subiyanto, and Forestry Minister\nRaja Juli Antoni.<\/p>\n Bahlil emphasised that the control of PT Asmin Koalindo Tuhup (AKT)\nmining operations was prompted by the absence of official documents from\nthe company.<\/p>\n He revealed that the company had actually been halted long ago, so PT\nAKT\u2019s mining activities cannot be justified. \u201cIndeed, the permit status\nfor this mining location has been revoked since 2017,\u201d said Bahlil,\nquoted from the official Satgas PKH Instagram account, on Wednesday\n(8\/4\/2026).<\/p>\n According to Bahlil, the revocation of the permit nine years ago\nmeant halting the company\u2019s operations. All forms of mining activities\nthat have continued in the area until now are confirmed to be\nillegal.<\/p>\n \u201cIn other words, the mining operations conducted from 2017 until now\nlack legal validity,\u201d he added.<\/p>\n In line with these steps, Satgas PKH has retaken control of the 1,699\nhectares (ha) of land previously used as a mining opening area by PT\nAKT.<\/p>\n Role of Samin Tan<\/p>\n Citing detikcom, Samin Tan is suspected of providing funds amounting\nto Rp5 billion to former Deputy Chair of Commission VII of the DPR, Eni\nMaulani Saragih. The money provision is suspected as an effort to obtain\nassistance in resolving operational obstacles faced by one of his\nbusiness units.<\/p>\n The issues referred to relate to the Coal Mining Business Work\nAgreement (PKP2B) Generation 3 owned by his subsidiary, PT Asmin\nKoalindo Tuhup (AKT). The case focuses on negotiations over mining\ncontract disputes in Central Kalimantan involving the company with the\nMinistry of ESDM.<\/p>\n Designation of Samin Tan as Suspect<\/p>\n Director of Investigation JAMPIDSUS Syarief Sulaeman Nahdi explained\nthat the case has been elevated to the investigation stage since 25\nMarch. The investigative team found indications of deviations in the\nmining management conducted by PT AKT.<\/p>\n \u201cToday, the investigative team of the Deputy Attorney General for\nSpecial Crimes, based on Investigation Order Number 14 dated 25 March,\nabout two days ago, has elevated to the investigation level the alleged\ncriminal act of corruption involving deviations in the management of PT\nAKT mining in Murung Raya Regency, Central Kalimantan,\u201d said Director of\nInvestigation JAMPIDSUS of the Attorney General\u2019s Office, Syarief\nSulaeman Nahdi, citing CNN Indonesia, in the early hours of Saturday\n(28\/3\/2026).<\/p>\n The designation of the suspect by the Attorney General\u2019s Office marks\na new chapter for Samin Tan, who previously escaped legal charges in a\ndifferent case at the Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK).
