We are now waiting for BNPB\u2019s\nresponse and hope it can be approved,\u201d Bengkulu BPBD Chief I Made Ardana\nsaid here Thursday.<\/p>\n<p>The sirens are planned for Lempuing Village in Ratu Agung Subdistrict\nand Teluk Sepang Village in Kampung Melayu Subdistrict, both along the\ncoast.<\/p>\n<p>Warning sirens are an important tool for improving public\npreparedness, particularly in tsunami-prone areas, Ardana said.<\/p>\n<p>With an adequate warning system, residents can receive information\nabout potential tsunami threats sooner, giving them more time to\nevacuate, he said.<\/p>\n<p>Meanwhile, the Bengkulu city government is also strengthening\ndisaster preparedness by improving the capacity of administrative\nofficials at the village level.<\/p>\n<p>Bengkulu Mayor Dedy Wahyudi said the city has several disaster-prone\nareas, requiring government agencies and residents to remain prepared at\nall times.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe are in a disaster-prone area, so we must always be prepared.
