"summary": "The management of Pulau Baai Port in Bengkulu is aiming for a 30 per cent increase in liquid bulk cargo distribution by 2026, targeting a rise from 400,000 tonnes to around 600,000 tonnes annually. Cargo realisation up to May 2026 has already surged by nearly 94 per cent compared to the same period last year. The optimism is bolstered by the operation of a new drop tank system, which has significantly reduced vessel loading times from six days to just three.",
"content": "<p>The management of Pulau Baai Port in Bengkulu Province is targeting a\n30 per cent increase in liquid bulk cargo distribution flow by 2026.\nBranch Manager of PTP Nonpetikemas Bengkulu Branch, Mochammad Choiron\nYusuf, stated that the current target is around a 30 per cent rise,\nseeking to lift the port\u2019s total cargo throughput from 400,000 tonnes\nper year to approximately 600,000 tonnes. He noted that as of May 2026,\nliquid bulk cargo performance had already been realised at 212.7\nthousand tonnes, marking a 93.97 per cent increase compared to the same\nperiod in 2025, when only 122 thousand tonnes were recorded. Optimism\nfor higher liquid bulk distribution achievements is also supported by\nthe operation of drop tank services, or transit tanks for liquid bulk\ncargo transferred from trucks to be loaded onto ships. Choiron explained\nthat PTP Nonpetikemas Bengkulu operates two drop tanks, each designated\nfor specific product types. One is dedicated to olein, while the other\nis reserved for stearin and PFAD, as the products cannot be mixed within\nthe tanks. In addition to boosting productivity, the use of the drop\ntank system has reduced vessel loading times significantly, cutting the\nprocess from five to six days down to approximately three days.<\/p>",
