        "content": "<p>Bengkulu (ANTARA) - Bengkulu Governor Helmi Hasan met with South\nSumatra Governor Herman Deru, among other things, to discuss regional\nconnectivity to support the smooth distribution of goods and\ncross-regional mobility of the population.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cIn addition to strengthening inter-provincial relations, the meeting\nwas also used to discuss several strategic issues ranging from regional\nconnectivity to organising coal transportation to make it more orderly\nand not disrupt public activities,\u201d said Helmi in Bengkulu on\nSaturday.<\/p>\n<p>Still related to connectivity and coal transportation, the two\ngovernors, who met in Palembang, South Sumatra, on Friday (24\/4\/2026),\nalso encouraged the provision of special roads for holders of mining\nbusiness permits (IUP) as a long-term solution.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe want a joint solution, especially regarding coal transportation,\nto make it more orderly and not cause problems in the field,\u201d said\nHelmi.<\/p>\n<p>In addition to special roads for coal transportation, the Bengkulu\ntoll road to South Sumatra is currently in the continuation of its\nconstruction and has entered the national strategic project.<\/p>\n<p>The construction of the new toll road has been realised for Section\nI, from Bengkulu City to Central Bengkulu Regency, while the\nconstruction of Sections II and III until connected to the Trans-Sumatra\nToll Road has not yet been realised.<\/p>\n<p>Previously, Bengkulu Deputy Governor Mian had held a coordination\nmeeting with the Minister of National Development Planning\/Bappenas\nRachmat Pambudy at the Governor\u2019s Office in Bengkulu.<\/p>\n<p>Several infrastructure issues, such as the continuation of toll road\nconstruction and the construction of a railway to South Sumatra, were\nalso discussed.<\/p>\n<p>The Bengkulu Provincial Government hopes that this construction can\nbe realised soon, so that it can open connectivity between regions and\ncertainly accelerate the Bengkulu economy to spin faster.<\/p>\n<p>Minister Rachmat explained that regarding this construction, further\ndiscussions are needed.<\/p>\n<p>The central government, he said, continues to pay attention to the\nregions and regional progress.<\/p>\n<p>Currently, the central government is focusing on human resource\ndevelopment in sectors such as nutrition, health, and education.
