Bengkel's first anniversary<\/p>\n
JAKARTA (JP): Bengkel Nightpark, one of the city's main
\nentertainment centers, celebrated its first anniversary with
\nmodest but appealing events from July 3 through July 5.<\/p>\n
The main attractions for the 2,000 guests were street shows by
\na performing monkey and blazing fire acts by several local
\nartists.<\/p>\n
Public relations and marketing manager Dandan Hamdani said the
\nthree-day party also involved two female palmists who performed
\nfree of charge.<\/p>\n
\"But they made money from guests who voluntarily tipped them
\nafter having their palms analyzed,\" he said.<\/p>\n
He said other participants, like the models in the fashion
\nshows and the costume shops which staged a Costume Party, offered
\ndiscounted prices.<\/p>\n
The guests were served traditional snacks, like cotton candy
\nand Chinese siomay delicacies, besides the regular meals provided
\nat the Bengkel Cafe.<\/p>\n
Musicians who played included the Kahitna group and Colors
\nBand while the Vicky Burki Dance troupe performed at the Bengkel
