At the Gaikindo\nIndonesia International Auto Show (GIIAS) 2026, Wincos presented new\ntechnology that prioritises heat rejection capabilities alongside the\npreservation of visibility.<\/p>\n<p>One of the innovations introduced is \u2018Shield\u2019 technology, designed to\nhelp reduce solar heat exposure within the cabin without compromising\nthe driver\u2019s clarity of vision. \u201cThermal Shield, Premium Shield, and\nWincos Shield each possess their own characteristics, but they all\nprioritise quality, driving comfort, and Japanese technology as the\nprimary foundation of Wincos,\u201d said Yutaka Miura, President Director of\nPT Lintec Jakarta, at ICE BSD, Tangerang, on Saturday.<\/p>\n<p>According to Miura, this technology utilises special material layers\ncapable of filtering infrared radiation and ultraviolet (UV) rays, the\ntwo main components responsible for rising temperatures inside vehicles.\nThe use of such technology is becoming increasingly relevant in\nIndonesia, which possesses a tropical climate with high solar intensity\nthroughout the year.<\/p>\n<p>A cooler cabin is believed to not only enhance comfort during\njourneys but also help reduce the workload of air conditioning (AC)\nsystems. Consequently, vehicle energy usage becomes more efficient,\nwhich is particularly vital for electric vehicles that rely heavily on\npower efficiency.<\/p>\n<p>In addition to acting as a heat rejector, Shield-based window film is\ndesigned to provide a clear view from inside the cabin. This is crucial,\nas good visibility is a key factor affecting driving safety, especially\nwhen driving at night or during rain. The technology also offers\nprotection against UV rays that can accelerate the fading of vehicle\ninterior materials, such as seats, dashboards, and door panels.\nFurthermore, filtering UV rays helps reduce direct exposure to the skin\nof drivers and passengers during long journeys.<\/p>\n<p>In its development, Shield technology combines Nano Infrared\nRejection Technology with an Extruded Dye Film layer. This combination\nallows the window film to reduce heat and solar glare more effectively\nwithout requiring excessive darkness levels. As a result, users maintain\nprivacy from outside the vehicle while retaining the ability to see road\nconditions comfortably.<\/p>\n<p>The development of window film technology indicates a shift in\nconsumer needs.
