        "content": "<p>The Bekasi Metro Police raided a rented house used as a storage\nfacility for thousands of tablets of type G hard drugs, specifically\ntramadol, and arrested one suspect in the Pasir Gombong village area,\nNorth Cikarang sub-district, Bekasi Regency, West Java.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cFrom the raid, officers secured a man with the initials T, aged 53,\nalong with evidence of 500 sheets or 5,000 tramadol tablets stored in a\nblack fishing bag,\u201d said Bekasi Metro Police Chief Commissioner Sumarni\nin a statement on Thursday (February 26).<\/p>\n<p>At the same location, officers also secured evidence of Rp684,000 in\ncash, allegedly from sales, and one mobile phone used by the suspect for\ntransactions. The rented house was allegedly deliberately chosen as a\nstorage location to mislead local residents.<\/p>\n<p>The Police Chief revealed that the raid began with reports from the\npublic who were concerned about suspicious activity in the area. After\nan investigation, police immediately took action.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cBased on information from residents, this location was allegedly\nfrequently used as a place for storing and trading illegal hard drugs.\nAfter an investigation, officers immediately took action,\u201d said\nSumarni.<\/p>\n<p>Moving to the second location, still on the same day, officers again\ntook action in the Sukamanah area. Two men with the initials K, 33, and\nH, 22, were also secured.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cFrom the two, police confiscated 25 sheets or about 250 tramadol\ntablets, three mobile phones, and a number of items allegedly used as a\nmeans of storage and transaction,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n<p>Sumarni emphasized that the circulation of hard drugs without a\npermit is one of the focuses of eradication because of its damaging\nimpact, especially on young people.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThis type G drug is often misused and can be dangerous to health. We\nwill continue to take firm action against perpetrators of illegal hard\ndrug trafficking,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n<p>The Police Chief said that this action refers to Law Number 17 of\n2023 concerning Health regarding the supervision and enforcement of hard\ndrugs without a distribution permit.<\/p>\n<p>The three suspects are now being held at the Bekasi Metro Police\nHeadquarters for further examination. Police are also investigating the\npossibility of a larger distribution network behind the illegal drug\ntrafficking.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cAll suspected perpetrators will be processed in accordance with\napplicable legal provisions. This action is also proof of the police\u2019s\nseriousness in tackling the circulation of illegal hard drugs that have\nthe potential to harm public health, especially the younger generation,\u201d\nhe said.<\/p>\n<p>This discovery is a warning that the illegal hard drug business is\nstill targeting residential areas.
