        "content": "<p>JAKARTA, KOMPAS.com - A manufacturing company producing printing\nmachines in Cikarang, Bekasi, has been reported to the Metro Jaya Police\nfor alleged violations of the right to organise (union busting) on\nWednesday (13\/5\/2026).<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThis is an alleged union busting by the management against employees\nand union officials,\u201d said the workers\u2019 legal representative, Budhy\nMerdiansyah, when met at Metro Jaya Police Headquarters on\nWednesday.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cDuring the wage negotiations in February, up to 23 February, we\nreached an agreement. That means the wage negotiation issue has been\nresolved,\u201d said Abdul on the same occasion.<\/p>\n<p>However, suddenly, 12 workers who are members of the Indonesian Metal\nWorkers Federation (FSPMI) were suspended on 6 April 2026, followed by\ntermination letters a week later.<\/p>\n<p>Abdul said they were suspended on grounds of efficiency. However,\naccording to him, the reason does not make sense because his members\nhave had good performance while working there for decades.<\/p>\n<p>He suspects that this step was planned from the beginning by the\ncompany.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe acknowledge that and we often hear from managers that my members\nhave good performance. But in reality, they were suspended for\nefficiency reasons. That is very unreasonable,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n<p>The suspended workers could not inquire further about the\nmanagement\u2019s decision. Because they have not been allowed to enter the\nwork area since being suspended.<\/p>\n<p>This report has previously been consulted by the workers with the\nLabour Desk at Metro Jaya Police.
