Bekasi man arrested for killing his mother<\/p>\n
JAKARTA (JP): A 60-year-old woman was stabbed to death by her
\nown son in their house at Sukarapih Village in Tambelang, Bekasi,
\nMonday evening.<\/p>\n
Bekasi police said yesterday that Nuraeni was killed by her
\nson Firman, alias Al Iman, 20, who is strongly believed to suffer
\nfrom hallucinations.<\/p>\n
Firman, an employee of a private firm, is now in police
\ncustody at Tambelang police station awaiting further
\ninterrogation.<\/p>\n
\"Based on preliminary investigations and questioning, the
\nsuspect is believed to have been suffering from hallucinations,\"
\na Bekasi police officer told The Jakarta Post. He also hinted
\nthat Firman might be suffering from a mental disorder.<\/p>\n
During the questioning, Firman said he did not realize that he
\nhad murdered his mother.<\/p>\n
He was aware that he had done so only when he saw the neck of
\nhis mother detached from her body.<\/p>\n
Firman thought that the person approaching him when he woke up
\nfrom a nap on Monday was a horrible creature with blazing eyes,
\nupright hair and chuckling laughter.<\/p>\n
In reality it was his loving mother who was carrying a bowl of
\nporridge and a boiled egg for Firman to break his fast.<\/p>\n
According to Firman, he had not slept well the night before
\ndue to frightening sounds coming from the roof of the house. He
\nsaid in an effort to rid himself of his fright, he performed an
\nevening prayer.<\/p>\n
In the morning, he took a long nap until late in the
\nafternoon, when he woke up and found the porridge and egg had
\nbeen left near him.<\/p>\n
After he finished the meal, Firman suddenly realized that he
\nwas doing a routine Monday fast that day.<\/p>\n
His mother had said she noticed that he had not slept well the
\nprevious night and, therefore, advised Firman to break his fast
\nbefore the allowable time for the sake of his health.<\/p>\n
However, Firman told the police, what he saw talking to him
\nwas not his mother, but a horrifying creature. So, he immediately
\ntook a machete from the kitchen and fatally wounded the poor and
\nunsuspecting woman by stabbing her several times. (bsr)<\/p>",
