A member of the Bekasi Regency Regional House of Representatives\n(DPRD), identified by the initials NY, has been named a suspect in an\nalleged assault. NY and two other suspects, ED and B, have now been\ndetained and their case transferred to the prosecutor\u2019s office.<\/p>\n
\u201cWe have received the transfer of responsibility for the suspects and\nevidence in the criminal case of assault on behalf of suspects NY, ED,\nand B,\u201d said the Head of the Intelligence Section at the Bekasi District\nProsecutor\u2019s Office, Fajar Gigih Wibowo, in a statement on Thursday.<\/p>\n
The three are currently being held at the Cikarang Penitentiary. The\nBekasi Metro Police carried out the second phase of the process, handing\nover the suspects and evidence to the Bekasi District Prosecutor\u2019s\nOffice.<\/p>\n
\u201cThe detention is based on the fulfilment of at least two pieces of\nevidence that the three suspects allegedly committed the criminal acts\ncharged by investigators, and has gone through a number of\nconsiderations in accordance with the provisions of the applicable laws\nand regulations,\u201d he explained.<\/p>\n
The Head of Public Relations for the Bekasi Metro Police, AKP\nAliyani, added that the handover of evidence and suspects took place on\nWednesday night. The transfer was conducted after the case file was\ndeclared complete, or P21.<\/p>\n
\u201cThe three suspects handed over have the initials NY, E, and B. One\nof the suspects is known to be an active member of the DPRD,\u201d said\nAliyani.<\/p>\n
The three are being processed for alleged criminal acts of abuse\nand\/or assault as referred to in Article 466 of the Criminal Code and\/or\nArticle 262 of the Criminal Code. The incident was reported to have\noccurred on 30 October 2025 at a restaurant in South Cikarang, Bekasi\nRegency. All suspects and evidence have been received by the Public\nProsecutor for further proceedings.<\/p>\n
\u201cThe Indonesian National Police is committed to upholding the law\nprofessionally, transparently, accountably, and fairly without\ndiscrimination, and ensuring that every legal process is carried out in\naccordance with the provisions of the legislation,\u201d he stated.<\/p>\n
A representative of the victim\u2019s family, Nancy Angela Hendrick,\nexpressed gratitude for the detention. Nancy said the family will\ncontinue to monitor the case.<\/p>\n
\u201cThis case has been going on for nine months. The detention was only\ncarried out today.
