The Bekasi City
Government is ensuring the land acquisition process for approximately
6.1 hectares, with 5 hectares targeted for completion this year and the
remainder by 2027. The PSEL facility will process over 1,500 tonnes of
waste daily using moving grate incinerator technology. ‘We ensure the
technology is environmentally adaptive,’ said Tri, who has also
allocated Rp10 billion for road access construction to the facility. The
facility, operating under a Public-Private Partnership (KPBU) scheme,
will generate up to 18.5 megawatts of electricity. Tri added that the
PSEL development has undergone public consultation with experts in
waste-to-energy. In addition to being a strategic solution for waste
management, the project follows President Prabowo Subianto’s directives,
given Bekasi’s status as one of Southeast Asia’s largest industrial
areas.
",
