It is\nnot only about revealing the perpetrators but also about the safety of\nthose handling the case. Terror, intimidation, and threats now accompany\nthe handling of the case surrounding Andrie Yunus. The legal aid team\nadvocating for this case admits to receiving pressure on social media.\nThe pressure does not only occur in the digital space. Activist networks\nin the regions are experiencing similar issues, even targeting families.\n\u201cFor example, threats where families are followed, terrorised, and so\non,\u201d said Jane. Members of the Advocacy Team for Democracy (TAUD) have\nalso received threats via social media to personal numbers. This\nsituation has prompted the activists to take protective measures. They\nhave submitted requests to the National Human Rights Commission (Komnas\nHAM) and the Witness and Victim Protection Agency (LPSK). She assesses\nthat protection for human rights defenders is still very minimal.\n\u201cToday, the condition of protection for human rights defenders is very\nminimal because there is no specific regulation governing the protection\nof human rights defenders,\u201d she explained.
