        "content": "<p>Beggars bad for tourism<\/p>\n<p>From Kompas<\/p>\n<p>A Dutch friend of mine came to Indonesia on holiday several <br>\nmonths go and visited several cities like Jakarta, Denpasar, <br>\nYogyakarta and Bandung.<\/p>\n<p>While admiring the beauty of Indonesia and its culture, she <br>\nalso wondered why there were so many beggars around, particularly <br>\nin Bandung, where you come across beggars almost everywhere.<\/p>\n<p>I was really embarrassed when she asked me why there was such <br>\na large number of beggars and why the government did nothing <br>\nabout them.<\/p>\n<p>I'm afraid the presence of beggars in places frequently <br>\nvisited by foreign tourists will cause discomfort to them, and <br>\nwill eventually lead to dampened interest in visiting Indonesia.<\/p>\n<p>NURAY RIFAT<br>\nBandung<\/p>",
