        "content": "<p>Jakarta \u2013 The Begal-Hunting Team of the Metro Jaya Regional Police\nhas disclosed six mugging cases that occurred in Jakarta. Of the six\ncases, eight suspects have been arrested. \u2018Alhamdulillah sudah\nmengamankan delapan orang tersangka yang melakukan tindak pidana\npencurian dengan kekerasan,\u2019 said Senior Commissioner of Police Iman\nImanuddin to reporters on Monday evening (18 May).<\/p>\n<p>Iman said the suspects involved in the robberies across several\nlocations and had gone viral on social media, including Bundaran Hotel\nIndonesia (HI), Patung Kuda, Kebon Jeruk, Cideng and Gandaria.<\/p>\n<p>For the Bundaran HI incident, three suspects were arrested. They were\nknown to carry out phone snatching targeting foreign nationals\n(WNA).<\/p>\n<p>\u2018Based on preliminary interviews, three suspects have committed 120\nincidents or 120 TKP,\u2019 Iman said.<\/p>\n<p>Iman said the Begal Hunting Team is still pursuing other perpetrators\nwho have not yet been arrested. \u2018For those at large, it is indicated\nthat the individuals involved used firearms,\u2019 he added.<\/p>\n<p>In this case, police charged the suspects under Article 466 KUHP,\nArticle 471 KUHP, Article 477 KUHP and Article 479 KUHP.<\/p>\n<p>Earlier, the Metro Jaya Police formed a begal-hunting team to\neradicate street crime that unsettles the public.<\/p>\n<p>Iman said the formation of the special team was necessary because\nstreet crime not only causes material losses but also endangers\nlives.<\/p>\n<p>He explained the team would be stationed at several high-risk spots\nand operate around the clock to ensure the safety of the public.<\/p>\n<p>\u2018The team, whether at the police precincts, police resort, or the\nGeneral Criminal Investigation Directorate, will be deployed across the\njurisdiction of Metro Jaya Police,\u2019 Iman said at a press conference on\nFriday (15 May).<\/p>\n<p>Iman also said the team would be equipped with tactical gear, from\nhelmets and vests to firearms.<\/p>",
