Entering the fourth day after Eid, activities in traditional markets\nare beginning to resume, although not yet fully normal. Several traders\nat Pasar Rumput in South Jakarta have returned to selling, while some\nstalls remain closed.<\/p>\n
Based on observations by CNBC Indonesia at the location, prices of\nseveral food commodities such as beef, chicken, and chicken eggs are\nstill at high levels, though some are showing declines compared to\nduring Eid.<\/p>\n
Beef trader Asep said the current beef price is at Rp150,000 per kg\nfor the thigh cut.<\/p>\n
\u201cRp150,000 per kg for the thigh, front or back the same at Rp150,000\nper kg, the thigh part for rendang,\u201d said Asep when met at the location\non Wednesday (25\/3\/2026).<\/p>\n
He revealed that beef prices were higher during the Eid momentum last\nweek. According to him, beef prices reached Rp160,000 per kg on H-1 and\nH-2 before Eid.<\/p>\n
\u201cOn H-1 or H-2, it reached Rp160,000 per kg for beef in the Jakarta\narea, if outside Jakarta it seems some reached Rp170,000-Rp180,000 per\nkg. But in Jakarta, it was Rp160,000 per kg,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n
Regarding future price movements, Asep said it still depends on\nsupplies from the slaughterhouse.<\/p>\n
\u201cI don\u2019t know, it depends on the butchers. I\u2019m just following here,\nbuying or taking goods from there. If there it rises, how can it not\nrise here, I\u2019d be at a loss,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n
Meanwhile, chicken prices were observed at around Rp35,000 per kg.\nChicken trader Surya said he sells chicken weighing 1 kg 5 oz for\nRp50,000 per bird.<\/p>\n
\u201cPer kilo Rp35,000. But we sell per bird, that one 1 kg 5 oz\nRp50,000,\u201d said Surya.<\/p>\n
He mentioned that chicken prices rose slightly during Eid, but not\nsignificantly.<\/p>\n
\u201cIt rose a bit during Eid, but not much. Didn\u2019t exceed Rp40,000 per\nkg,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n
Surya admitted he does not know the exact cause of the price\nincrease, but he just follows the price from the supplier, namely the\npoultry slaughterhouse price.<\/p>\n
\u201cI don\u2019t know much, from there I buy at around Rp30,000 per kg I\nthink earlier, anyway after calculating clean to the main market it\u2019s\nRp35,000 per kg,\u201d he explained.<\/p>\n
On the other hand, chicken egg prices are starting to decline, though\nstill considered high. Egg trader Teri said the current egg price is at\nRp32,000 per kg.<\/p>\n
\u201cEggs are Rp32,000 per kg,\u201d said Teri.<\/p>\n
She mentioned that the price has already dropped compared to during\nEid.<\/p>\n
\u201cThis has already dropped. Yesterday during Eid it was Rp33,000 per\nkg. Now it\u2019s dropped to Rp32,000,\u201d she said.<\/p>\n
According to her, the price decline only happened today and is still\nlikely to continue. \u201cJust today. Later it will drop more probably,\u201d she\nsaid.<\/p>\n
The same was conveyed by another egg trader, Sukma.<\/p>\n
\u201cToday Rp32,000 per kg,\u201d said Sukma.<\/p>\n
She added that egg prices had previously risen during Eid due to high\ndemand.<\/p>\n
\u201cJust dropped. Yesterday during Eid it rose to Rp33,000 per kg,\nprobably because many were looking for it.
