Beddu favored in takraw congress<\/p>\n
JAKARTA (JP): Chairman of the State Logistics Agency, Beddu
\nAmang, has emerged as the sole candidate for the top job in the
\nIndonesian Sepak Takraw Association which will hold its national
\ncongress in Bogor, West Java this weekend.<\/p>\n
Sepak takraw is a sport similar to volleyball but uses a
\nrattan ball,<\/p>\n
The association's official in charge of organizational
\naffairs, Rainal Rais, said yesterday that Beddu is considered the
\nright man to replace two-times chairman Marjoeni Warganagara
\nbecause of his great concern about the sport. Beddu is a native
\nSouth Sulawesi, the country's strongest sepak takraw powerhouse.<\/p>\n
Rais also said that the congress would discuss possible
\ncooperation between the association and the Armed Forces to
\nfurther develop the sport throughout the country. "We plan to
\nfollow the footstep of Thailand, whose national players are
