Several popular tourist areas in Bali are predicted to become traffic
bottlenecks during the extended Eid holiday in 2026. The Bali
Transportation Agency (Dishub) has mapped out several destinations that
are likely to experience heavy vehicle congestion as tourist arrivals
increase.

The head of Bali’s Transportation Agency, I Kadek Mudarta, stated
that congestion is expected at several tourist destinations that are
consistently busy during holiday periods.

“Generally speaking, the busiest holiday destinations in Bali are
around Kuta, Canggu, Semigita-Seminyak, Legian and Kuta,” Mudarta said
when met in Denpasar on Tuesday, 10 March 2026.

“There’s also Tanah Lot, Ubud and Bedugul. These are the favourite
destinations that receive many visitors,” he added.

In addition to tourist areas, Mudarta mentioned that access to Ngurah
Rai Airport also has the potential to experience traffic congestion
during the Eid holiday period.

“Of course, one of the traffic bottleneck points is access around the
airport, so both on airport roads and along the Bypass Ngurah Rai,
especially areas near the airport heading towards Kedonganan (south),”
Mudarta said.

To anticipate congestion, the Bali Transportation Agency’s personnel
will conduct patrols and maintain presence at several key points,
particularly around airport entry and exit routes.

“Generally speaking, Bali Transportation Agency personnel will patrol
and be stationed around airport access routes,” he said.

He added that monitoring at tourist destinations will also involve
the transportation agencies of each regency according to their
respective areas.

“But for transportation officers in each regency according to their
destination areas, for Ubud for example it would be monitored by the
Gianyar Transportation Agency,” he explained.
",
