        "content": "<p>PT Bank Central Asia Tbk (BCA) has once again demonstrated its\ncommitment to supporting culture-based businesses in penetrating global\nmarkets. Through the Creating Shared Value (CSV) programme, Bakti BCA,\nin partnership with the Natural Colours Association (WARLAMI), is\npresenting natural dye woven products at the Tenun Exhibition in\nIndonesia House Amsterdam (IHA), Netherlands, running from 24 April to\n15 September 2026.<\/p>\n<p>The exhibition, opened by Deputy Ambassador of the Republic of\nIndonesia to the Netherlands, Mariska Dwianti Dhanutirto, serves as a\nstrategic moment to introduce Indonesia\u2019s rich textile heritage to the\nworld. The event is attended by the diaspora, creative economy players,\nand international communities, potentially opening new networks for\nnatural dye woven products.<\/p>\n<p>Beyond displaying works, the exhibition includes various educational\nactivities, such as talkshows on the development of natural dyes and\nsustainable practices, as well as hands-on experiences in natural dyeing\nfor visitors. These agendas are expected to facilitate knowledge\nexchange, particularly regarding the potential of natural dye plants\nthriving in Indonesia.<\/p>\n<p>On this occasion, Bakti BCA is featuring one of its local champions,\nKornelius Ndapakamang, a weaver from East Sumba. He is demonstrating\ndistinctive dyeing techniques using red and blue colours that represent\nSumba\u2019s cultural identity, while also conducting workshops for\nvisitors.<\/p>\n<p>Kornelius stated that participation in this international exhibition\nopens significant opportunities for local weavers to expand their\nmarkets. According to him, the use of natural dyes not only preserves\ncultural heritage but also supports environmental sustainability due to\ntheir eco-friendly nature.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe are grateful to Bakti BCA for helping to market natural colour\nweaves to the international level. This support also encourages\ninnovation, such as developing derivative products like clothing and\nbags that increase selling value,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n<p>He also hopes that natural dyeing practices can continue to be passed\ndown to the younger generation, one of which is through integration into\neducation.<\/p>\n<p>BCA\u2019s EVP of Corporate Communication &amp; Social Responsibility,\nHera F. Haryn, emphasised that participation in this exhibition is part\nof the company\u2019s sustainable commitment to supporting the weaving\necosystem, especially amid the rising trend of eco-friendly fashion. \u201cWe\nhope this exhibition can open broader opportunities, both in cultural\npreservation, business development, and improving community welfare,\u201d\nsaid Hera.<\/p>\n<p>Bakti BCA\u2019s natural colour textile empowerment programme is currently\nrunning in several regions such as South Central Timor, Baduy, East\nSumba, and North Sumatra. Throughout 2025, the programme recorded an\nincrease in weavers\u2019 income of more than Rp367 million, or 34% annual\ngrowth, in line with rising interest in sustainable fashion\nproducts.<\/p>\n<p>In addition to strengthening market access, Bakti BCA also\ncontributes to maintaining the sustainability of raw materials through\nthe planting of cotton and natural dye plants like indigofera in various\nassisted areas. The programme also includes product quality\nstandardisation and institutional strengthening through the formation of\nweavers\u2019 cooperatives.<\/p>\n<p>Hera added that involvement in the Amsterdam exhibition is expected\nnot only to introduce products but also to expand global understanding\nof sustainable production practices based on local culture. \u201cThis is\npart of our efforts to preserve cultural heritage while promoting\ninclusive and sustainable economic growth,\u201d she concluded.<\/p>",
