        "content": "<p>Jakarta (ANTARA) - Big Bad Wolf (BBW) assesses that the disparity in\nreading interest in the country is not solely caused by low public\ninterest, but also due to limited access to books, especially in remote\nareas.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe low literacy problem is not because people are lazy to read, but\nbecause books are hard to obtain. If we look at cities outside Java,\nthere might only be one bookstore in one mall in one city,\u201d said BBW\nIndonesia Director Marthius Wandi Budianto at the Gathering &amp; Book\nPreview BBW Jakarta 2026 event on Thursday.<\/p>\n<p>Indonesia\u2019s literacy rate is said to have only reached 0.001 per\ncent, or just one in 100,000 people who truly enjoy reading.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe want to provide a very different reading experience to children\nso they do not become too dependent on gadgets. Reading books is far\nmore enjoyable and the experience is different compared to just looking\nat a screen,\u201d Wandi stated.<\/p>\n<p>He added that the scarcity of quality children\u2019s books is felt even\nin renowned schools. Many parents struggle to find suitable\nEnglish-language books for their children in conventional\nbookstores.<\/p>\n<p>BBW has partnered with Lion Parcel as the official logistics partner\noperating 24 hours during the event, allowing visitors from out of town\nto purchase without having to carry them themselves.<\/p>\n<p>Buyer enthusiasm even exceeds national borders. At the previous\nSurabaya event, shipments were recorded as far as Malaysia from buyers\nwho entrusted through relatives in Indonesia.<\/p>\n<p>In its 10th year of presence in Indonesia, BBW reaffirms its\ncommitment to continuously enhance the visitor experience while\nexpanding public access to quality books at affordable prices.<\/p>",
