BBD service<\/p>\n
On March 27, 1997 I had a bitter experience with Bank Bumi
\nDaya (BBD).<\/p>\n
The Bank's service could be no worse. It is choked with
\nbureaucracy and red tape.<\/p>\n
After queuing at many unmarked counters, I found myself at
\nlast face to face - with the woman in charge with the transfer of
\ncash.<\/p>\n
The woman in command did nothing but concentrate on activities
\nwhich were unrelated to the needs of customers. I then stood
\nalone and waited. I dreaded the precious moments lost wandering
\nfrom counter to counter.<\/p>\n
Whole minutes had passed when another woman from a nearby
\ncounter inquired if I was standing at the right spot. In
\nresponse, I claimed that I had been \"directed\" from counter to
\ncounter and that at long last had stumbled upon the right one.<\/p>\n
On overhearing my comments an elderly man approached me. He
\nthen insisted that the spot upon which I stood was closed. As I
\nglanced over my shoulder a no-entrance strip had just been placed
\nbehind me.
\n On awakening to the deception by this very BBD I tore to shreds
\nthe formats for the money transfer I had enscribed earlier and
\ndeparted the bank in disgust.<\/p>\n
I implore the BBD to improve its services. Let the counters
\nbe marked clearly and no longer go unmarked.<\/p>\n
Any clerk sitting behind a counter is entitled to serve
\nstand-by customers. Indirect serving activities can be carried
\nout elsewhere.<\/p>\n
In the course of 52 years of independence, the natives of
\nIndonesia are entitled also to get the best of services, aren't
\nthey ?<\/p>\n
