B'ball all-star game in Surabaya<\/p>\n
JAKARTA (JP): The Indonesian Basketball Association (Perbasi)
\nwill hold the 2001 Nuvo Kobatama All-Star Game at the Kertajaya
\nbasketball hall in Surabaya on Sunday.<\/p>\n
The Perbasi official in charge of the national basketball
\nleague, Doeddie Gambiro, said on Tuesday the game would feature
\n20 players from 10 teams. All of the players were selected by
\nfans during the last two league rounds in Malang, East Java, and
\nSurakarta, Central Java.<\/p>\n
\"The All-Star Game is being held to entertain basketball fans
\nthroughout the nation,\" he said, adding that the game will be
\naired live on SCTV at 4 p.m.<\/p>\n
He said each participating player would receive Rp 1 million
\n(US$86), and the game's Most Valuable Player would receive an
\nadditional Rp 500,000 from sponsor Kratingdaeng.<\/p>\n
For the game, Simon Pasaribu from the Satria Muda club and
\nTjetjep Firmansyah from Aspac Texmaco were respectively named
\nteam manager and coach of the ABC Alkaline Western Division
\nsquad. Nandang Ruskandar and Dedy Kuskanto of Panasia Indosyntec
\nwill serve as manager and coach of the Kratingdaeng Eastern
