Baznas Deputy\nChairman Zainut Tauhid Sa\u2019adi stated the agency is committed to ensuring\nsacrificial animals donated by the public are distributed accurately,\naccountably, and transparently. \u2018Our commitment remains to regulatory\ncompliance, Sharia compliance, and national unity. Sacrificial animals\nentrusted to Baznas are converted into tangible blessings for\ncommunities through thorough coordination with various stakeholders,\nincluding local governments,\u2019 he said in a statement in Jakarta on\nFriday. Zainut praised the distribution of sacrificial animals by the\nPresident and Vice President of Indonesia through Baznas, viewing it as\ntrust in the agency as the national zakat manager. He noted that kurban\nin a national context is not merely a ritual act but also part of the\nsocial safety net for those in need. \u2018When state mechanisms are used to\nprovide nutritious food, alleviate living burdens, and uphold social\njustice for poor families during this holy occasion, such actions meet\nboth Sharia and constitutional principles,\u2019 he said. He assessed the\nprogramme as strategically valuable for supporting village development\nand poverty eradication. \u2018This is the right empowerment model. Empowered\nvillages are not dependent ones,\u2019 said Mulyadin. Mulyadin also hopes\ncollaboration with Baznas can be expanded to reach more remote villages\nacross Indonesia so that the benefits of kurban are distributed more\nevenly and fairly.
