        "content": "<p>Bayer to quit SSX<\/p>\n<p>JAKARTA (JP): PT Bayer Indonesia, a publicly listed<br>\npharmaceutical producer, plans to remove its shares from the<br>\nSurabaya Stock Exchange (SSX) as part of its cost cutting<br>\nprogram.<\/p>\n<p>The company said on Wednesday that the plan to delist the<br>\nshares was also made due to the lack of investors in the Surabaya<br>\nstock market.<\/p>\n<p>Like other shares on the Surabaya stock market, Bayer stocks<br>\nare rarely traded. According to the company, during the period<br>\nbetween 1998 and 1999, its shares on the Surabaya exchange only<br>\nrecorded two transactions.<\/p>\n<p>Most of the companies traded on the Jakarta Stock Exchange<br>\n(JSX) are cross listed on the Surabaya market to give direct<br>\naccess to local investors.
